Creating a shorter supply chain connecting farmers to consumers not only makes fresh and nutritious food more available and accessible, it also helps the environment by lessening the carbon footprint.
A fleet of Class 3 modern PUVs air conditioned by Coolaire has arrived in Leyte and will now be available for the Palompon-Ormnoc route for the comfort of all commuters. The launching ceremony took place on July 14, 2022, with officers Coolaire, Isuzu Philippines, and Isuzu Cebu leading the turn over to Leyte Transport Cooperative.
The Isuzu PUVs were assembled using the NLR and QKR cab and chassis platforms with the shell designed and manufactured by Almazora. The 23-seater units are air-conditioned by Coolaire and fall under the Type 2 class PUV with side-facing seating configuration.
Hauling trucks that included refrigerated vans by Coolaire were awarded to different farmers cooperatives and associations (FCAs) to benefit the rice and vegetable farmers in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Each of the 15 Coolaire refrigerated trucks can carry a net weight of 1.6 tons of fish and is equipped with state-of-the-art devices, including a high-powered cooling system, emergency button, and reverse camera, to ensure the quality of the products and the safety of the delivery team.
