Shaping Leaders: Coolaire Logs 1,800 Training Hours in 2025

QUEZON CITY, Philippines — In a push for workforce improvement, Coolaire Consolidated Inc. (Coolaire) completed 1,800 hours of technical and soft skills trainings in 2025 as part of its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) specifically SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities.

One of the technical courses involved welding enhancement programs in partnership with the Philippine Welding Society while the soft skills trainings included enrolling several employees in the Asian Institute Management’s (AIM) courses on Design Thinking and Project Management. Others underwent accounting, auditing, and financial literacy classes through various institutional providers.

Tugade is active in private sector efforts for the mainstreaming of SDGs in the Philippines. His passion has established Coolaire’s commitment to the SDGs, among them through partnerships and event participations with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

2025 trainings particularly and directly support SDG 8 to “promote development-oriented policies […] and organize mentoring programs.”

“[As a result], we have more leaders and thinkers, therefore, bringing them to enriching positions in the Company,” Tugade said.

Aside from technical trainings, Coolaire extends its workforce improvement activities through varied programs such as the TIKYO Scholarship, an educational support for the employees’ children, and annual team-building events that overall foster a genuine sense of family.

Since then, the Company’s continued investment in employee welfare has produced top homegrown talent. This symbiotic relationship has effectively cemented its leading position in the transport refrigeration industry for decades.
