JRT Foundation Holds Spiritual Recollection for TIKYO Scholars

JRT Foundation, the charitable arm of Coolaire Consolidated Inc. (Coolaire), held a Student Scholar Recollection Day for the students of its TIKYO Scholarship Program last June 27, in line with its dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The recollection is the latest activity under the Caring Initiative Series, the foundation’s commitment to a holistic approach to student development. The series supports the SDGs, particularly SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4 Quality Education, and SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
“JRT Foundation helps [its scholars] grow in all aspects of life. Maraming rin itong programa na naglalayong hubugin ang bawat iskolar, lalo na sa kanilang moral values at spiritual growth [para] maging responsableng miyembro ng lipunan,” said Corazon Santos, Coolaire SDG Lead and Program Advisor to the JRT Foundation, during the opening remarks.
The program gathered scholars from public and private educational institutions across grade school, high school, and college levels.
In partnership with the Franciscan Sisters of St. Elizabeth, the recollection featured lectures on self-awareness and spiritual growth, alongside interactive activities that encouraged participants to seek healing through strengthened faith.
“Natutunan kong huwag magpapakain sa mga negatibong isip at huwag matakot humakbang dahil kasama natin ang Diyos,” shared Janah C. Augusto, a 15-year-old student from Krus Na Ligas High School in Quezon City.
The Franciscan Daughters of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, a century-old missionary congregation advocating and sharing Christ’s love with children and families, mainly facilitated the recollection and also delivered talks on sharing the students’ knowledge with others.
“Lagi ko nang tatandaan ang pagdarasal at paggawa ng mabuti gaya na lamang ng pagtulong sa iba,” said Iyumi G. Gaela, a senior student from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
The scholars also received bibles under the foundation’s Faith Life Project, which has distributed over 6,000 bibles to churches, organizations, communities, and schools nationwide.
Holistic Student Development
The JRT Foundation, through the TIKYO Scholarship Program, continues its advocacy for quality education. The program currently supports 69 scholars across grade school, high school, and college levels.
“We hope [the recollection] supports the students in becoming compassionate individuals who will create a positive impact wherever they go,” Santos concluded.
More than providing educational assistance, this effort embodies the mission of the JRT Foundation and the TIKYO Scholarship Program of nurturing young people into well-rounded individuals. That when they grow, they turn into responsible members of society who lead by example and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
