The grand celebration gathered valued clients and partners from all over the country who were instrumental in the company’s transformation and success throughout the years. The country opened up opportunities for growth and innovations for the company.
In 2010, the firm launched the CCI series of truck refrigeration units and insulated fiberglass, which are now highly regarded as the most reliable and widely used transport refrigeration system in the Philippines.
The third-generation crop of new owners, who are looking at bringing the company to a bright future in the digital world, expressed thanks and gratitude to clients and partners who matter to the company first and foremost.
A consistent market leader and game changer, Coolaire prides itself as the longest and most active transport refrigeration company in the Philippines today.
Coolaire specializes in the refrigeration business. Its products include truck refrigeration systems, imported fiberglass bodies, cold storage equipment and panels, and rooftop air conditioners. Chiefly providing services to the food market, Coolaire accounts for a large majority of refrigerated vans in the country.
In all its 50-year existence, the business has constantly evolved, introducing innovations to adapt to the changing times and new demands of businesses. Founded by Filadelfo Tugade Jr. in 1969, Coolaire started as an air-conditioning equipment supplier for the United States military bases in the country, and accounted for the major supply and installation projects for major enterprises, such as San Miguel Corp., Nestle, Yakult and Purefoods, as well as the Metro Rail Transit System.
Filadelfo’s son Jerry, also an engineer, tool over the operation in the 1970s. Jerry still serves at company president. Together with his sons Joel Ryan and Patrick Joseph, who are now part of the management team-they plan to bring the family business to greater heights.
In the 1980s, Coolaire changed its operating status from a single proprietorship entity to a corporation. Thus, Coolaire Consolidated Inc. was incorporated to pave the way for its future growth and expansions plans.
The growing food industry in the country opened up opportunities for growth and innovations for the company. In 2017, the company enhanced its aftermarket footprint by opening more service locations in key cities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Just last year, Coolaire became the major supplier of air conditioning systems for modern jeepneys, in support of the Department of Transportation’s public utility vehicle modernization program.
Catering to the food industry have the biggest share in the company’s business, accounting for 85 percent. The importance of Coolaire’s refrigeration transport system and cold storage products is even more felt today at the worsened traffic situation, hot climate, and current state of controlled storage and logistics in the country, demand for a more reliable food storage and transport.
“The presence of Coolaire products in refrigerated trucks and cold storages, make it possible for perishables to maintain its freshness and shelf life for a longer time period, allowing consumers to enjoy their properly stored and delivered meals at the mall and home every day,” according to Jerry.
To this day, Coolaire is the premier supplier and contractor for temperature control equipment, accounting for the bulk of the sales of cooling equipment into the Philippines for applications such as transport cooling, food preservation, stationary cold storage and freezing, special air-conditioning, and container refrigeration.
As the food retail industry continues to grow and expand in the country, Coolaire sees more opportunities.
